COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 28, 2011) – Colorado Springs native Mike Marquez has been named general manager of the Brunswick Zone XL now under construction in Interquest Marketplace. Slated to open in spring 2012, the center is the newest in Brunswick's chain of bowling and entertainment centers located throughout the United States as well as in Canada and Europe.
 
Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Marquez's passion for bowling began in grade school and has continued throughout his career. In 1992, he joined Brunswick as a customer service representative and rose rapidly through management, serving as GM at five other Brunswick locations before returning home to Colorado Springs.

“With his experience and knowledge of Colorado Springs, Mike is perfect for this job," said Jim Fox, president, Brunswick Bowling & Billiards – Retail. “We’re thrilled to have one of our top managers running this showcase center."

Bowling is just the beginning at Brunswick Zone XL. In addition to 36 lanes, the 50,000-square-foot center features leagues for all ages and skills, a giant open-floor game arcade, lazer tag arena, billiards, award-winning kids' birthday parties and multiple event options that can cater to intimate get-togethers or large corporate meetings. With large-screen TVs, the bar and grill is designed for relaxing with friends or catching the big games.

Conveniently located at 1180 Interquest Parkway, the new center will bring more than 100 jobs to the area, with most employees hired locally. A job fair is being planned for early March.
